Hello, friends. Let's take some time to discuss former U.S. President Franklin Pierce. So far he is the only New Hampshire native to have served the office. And, he was the first U.S. President to have a full time body guard. However, the body guard was either too slow or not present when someone threw an egg at Pierce. So with this picture I have included the image of a broken egg.
I have also included the image of a tear with this picture. This is because it seems like all accounts of his presidency say that the White House during the Pierce administration was very sad. This mostly had to do the presidents 11 year old son being the only casualty in a train accident just two months prior to his swearing in. All of this on top of the fact that Pierce had two sons who died before that, the ever growing problem of slavery to deal with, a destructive drinking habit, and a not-so-joyous marriage. He turned out to be an unpopular president. In 1856 the Democratic Party's convention slogan was "Anybody But Pierce" and this was his own party! Poor guy.
Of Coloring Pages, Fatherhood, and the Joys of Little Children
This web journal is the companion site to our main coloring page website ColoringPageKids.com. What started out as an experiment left to itself has evolved into a coloring page resource for the good children of the earth. In this blog, I take the luxury of commenting on the joys and laughs of fatherhood especially in the realm of rearing small children, and some how try to tie this in to Coloring Pages, which we update from time to time.
